BurgerIM

Burgers aren’t usually something I actively seek out, but when I do indulge, certain expectations have to be met like a soft bun, a flavorful patty, and decent side options.

What I experienced today was barely passable as a burger. The patty was cooked to the point to where I could probably have sanded down woodwork with it. On top of that, the meat was flavorless — the only thing I COULD taste was the swiss cheese and avocado. It was like some oxymoronic attempt at being healthier by omitting all the salt and oils. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a dry patty. For instance, the patties at Elevation Burger tend to be drier, but the meat there is ALWAYS fresh and full of flavor.

The bun was also disappointing. It wasn’t stale or dry enough to pose a choking hazard, but it tasted similar to food manufacturer’s early attempts at gluten free bread.

I guess the only thing that didn’t insult my taste buds were the fries and ice tea?

My meal clocked in at around $11 and for that price, I could have gone to any of the nearby burger places (The Burger Joint, Elevation Burger, Shake Shack, Whataburger, etc.) and gotten a better meal.

Parking is tricky here especially if you decide to compete with the lunch crowd. A lot of contractors and nearby employees often visit the Subway next door, so you will be competing with big trucks for a parking spot in that tiny parking lot. I didn’t bother asking about overflow parking once their lot fills.

Being newly opened I doubt it was an off day and more of the type of burgers they offered. I wish them well, but I honestly don’t know how well they will do with a tastier and more popular Whataburger right around the corner.
